I began my career in interior design accidently 9 years ago designing custom furniture for friends and family. I had found my passion and decided to learn every aspect of interior design.
After obtaining my first degree in Business Administration: Marketing from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, I graduated from the FIDER accredited Interior Designer’s Institute. I designed model homes for various prominent builders averaging 25 homes installed per year. Since making Lulu Designs a full time full service design firm, I have been designing custom homes and high-end residential design just now expanding into commercial interior design.
My education and experience allow me to constantly walk the balance of sticking to what works traditionally and continually pushing the creative envelope. These two ideas married with client lifestyle procure your dream home. I design functional, cohesive spaces no matter the style or aesthetic. Each of my designed spaces evolves from information gathering from the client and is a collaborative process tailored to every need, want and budget.
I design by the principle that design is a human experience. With the aim to evoke emotion, I believe that whatever mood is craved by a client, it can be acquired through superb design. Having designed high-end residential design, healthcare and retail boutiques in the orange county area, I understand that with every project comes a push and pull between function and aesthetic, practicality and beauty, and most importantly, carte blanche and budget. I believe in a holistic approach to design, and take into account that an evocative environment can only truly be created when all of the contributing components are considered. Without compromising any of these important details or high design standards, I thrive to present each client with a finished product that is a moving experience. |
